Ultimate Blog Party 2014

If you are visiting from the 2014 Ultimate Blog Party hosted by 5 Minutes for Moms, welcome! Please take your time and peruse some of the amazing, inspiring and encouraging stories of REAL moms that I post here on Made to Mother. They will make you laugh, cry and feel united with a spirit of motherhood camaraderie!

A Little About Me
I am a wife to Jonathan, my husband of nearly nine years and stay-at-home mommy to our three young children, Chloe, Adaya and Liam. I am also a birth mom to a teenage boy out there somewhere. You can read more about that here, and for ALL the messy details, you can order a copy of the book I wrote about it here.

02-20-2013 03;26;36PM3

I love to write, it is like free (okay, cheap) therapy for me. I also love to read. And talk with my girlfriends. That is why I began Made to Mother; it kinda combines all three! I am passionate about helping other women share their stories so they can experience the freedom of putting their pasts, no matter how messy, on paper and then watching it become an encouragement to others.
You can find out more about my M2M Project here and I hope in addition to reading some of the other heart-warming stories I’ve posted, you will consider letting me share your story, too!

Here are just a few of my absolute favorite stories posted here:

  • A Life Spent Loving Others – Mary’s Story
  • The Life of a “Normal” Mommy – Tracy’s Story
  • Just Wait – Jennifer’s Story

AWESOME! I am a writer too–just self-published my first book on Amazon last year. I’m writing a devotional now and have been toying with making my messy story into a fiction book. Seems more comfortable that way. We just started a drama team ministry at our church and I get to write all the scripts! Yay–what was I thinking? Lol. I can’t wait to peruse your blog–it sounds amazing!

You know, I thought I would do the same with my story, but you’ll find that it holds so much more power as a memoir! Thanks for stopping by and come back again! Blessings to you on your writing and drama team!

I should have qualified that statement. I am writing my memoirs for my children and genealogy purposes, but since most would not care about memoirs of an average girl and I name names (lol), I’m keeping it for family only. For public consumption, I’d fictionalize because then I can change and tweak. I love fiction much more than nonfiction. But, I am inspired by real events.

ahhh, I see. I also changed names in my story to protect those who I didn’t or couldn’t warn before publishing it. But, I kept it as accurate as I could…even going back through old journals to make sure I had dates and events correctly represented. Good luck to you, what a fun legacy to leave your children!

Hi! I stopped by from UBP14, and so far it looks like you have a great blog! I’ve actually seen you around on other link-ups in the past! I know it’s a blog for moms and I do not have any living children, but I still enjoy reading! I look forward to coming back when I have a little bit more time to read thoroughly. 🙂 I’d like to invite you to Operation Wife’s “Wifey Wednesday” link-up party. Even though it is a Wednesday party, it often goes live on Tuesday (as is the case today). I would love to see some of your posts there! God bless!

Thank you for stopping by and recommending your linkup, I just posted on it and will try to come back each week!
M2M is for all women, because I believe that God has called us to be mothers even if we do not have biological or legal children. There are so many opportunities to mother and I try to reflect that in the diverse stories I share here.
I hope you will come back and read some more and thanks again for the linkup!
